Gifts Pusher

Gifts Pusher

Are you looking for a physics game challenge this Christmas? If you are, then look no further than Gifts Pusher. This tricky puzzler will test the limits of your hand-eye coordination as you attempt to push presents to their proper place.

Because everything is done with the mouse, the controls are simple and easy to learn. When you're ready to start, all you'll need t do is to drag your mouse cursor over the small blue box on the game screen. This activates the level and makes it possible for you to push the gift. Each level contains different types of obstacles and platforms that will block you from bringing the gift to its proper place -- a spot marked by broken lines.

Considering the level of difficulty, Gifts Pusher will take time to finish. There are 25 levels for you to master, with plenty of interesting stage setups and holiday cheer just waiting for you to enjoy.

Gifts Pusher 2

Gifts Pusher 2

If you liked Gifts Pusher, then you'll love its sequel, Gifts Pusher 2. This physics game has everything that filled the original with yuletide cheer, plus it has even trickier stages just waiting to give you a mental workout.

The controls remain the same for the most part. You need to drag your mouse cursor over a small square in order to "activate" the present and turn your pointer into candy. Once that's done, it'll be time to push the gift from point A to point B, with point B being the square that is highlighted by broken lines.

To make things a bit more challenging, each level comes with its own rules and gadgets. For instance, the second stage introduces you to the gravity switch. Pressing this with your candy cursor will reverse the direction of the level's gravitational pull to give your present a much needed boost. Other stages feature walls which you candy cannot get past but objects can while others still will require you to use switches to open panels. New objects (for instance, a baseball bat) may also be scattered about levels, making for an interesting addition to the mechanics.

Gifts Pusher 2 retains all the cheery graphics elements and Christmas-themed graphics found in the original. Although instead of just 25, there are now 30 stages just waiting for you to solve.

Icy Gifts

Icy Gifts

From Silengames comes an explosive treat to satisfy all your gift-blasting needs. The goal of Icy Gifts is to blow up enough items to meet each level's requirement. To do this, you are given an array of different gadgets as well as the random power-up sphere.

To begin detonating frozen presents, all you'll need to do is click an area with your mouse. This triggers an explosion, starting a satisfying chain reaction for you to watch. Blowing up the icy blocks also frees the yuletide goodies for you to collect.

The number of affected gifts depends on how many were bunched up together near the area of your mouse click. You will need to keep focused to maximize the blast radius as the presents float around.

To help you make even bigger explosions, power-up spheres pop up randomly throughout the levels. These vary from poison gas bombs to balls that cause massive tidal waves. To make things easier, you can also go for upgrades that, say, increase your mine radius or make your gift magnet more effective.

Every level's requirements vary. To simply proceed to the next stage, you will need to blast enough gifts to pass the first goal. However, if you wish to get a perfect (three star) rating for 100% completion, you will need to aim for the second and third values respectively. There are over 30 levels and a whopping 45 achievements you can aim for in the game.

Factory Balls, the Christmas Edition

Factory Balls, the Christmas Edition

Tap into your creative side in Bart Bonte's Factory Balls, the Christmas Edition. This unique title will have you copying patterns and using yuletide items like a pro.

You start out with a number of plain, white balls on your Christmas tree. That simply won't do, right? In order to make them look festive, you will need to color them using the paint buckets and tools that you are given. For instance, dragging the ball to a can of orange paint will color it completely. However, using the Santa belt in the middle will color only the top and bottom. Using the hat will give it a zigzag pattern depending on which part you covered. There's also a muffler, a Santa hat, three more cans of paint and variations of these Christmas-themed tools. After using any of the items, you will need to put them back by dragging the ball back to the empty rack.

Veterans of Factory Balls will find this special version quite relaxing. After all, it was pared down to the bare essentials. Newcomers may need some time to try everything out to get used to the game mechanics. Though it sounds easy, figuring out the order in which to use the tools is actually tricky. There's no undo button although there is a trash bin in case you want to start over. Alternating between tools and using the silly tools is quite fun and is certainly festive. After all, decorating a tree is a big part of enjoying the most wonderful time of the year.

Rocket Santa 2

Rocket Santa 2

In Rocket Santa 2 by Berserk Studios, Christmas is a blast, figuratively and literally. This is a launch game, which means that you'll be sending good ol' Saint Nick high in the sky. That is, to get back the lost gifts just in time for Christmas. At least it's for a good cause, right?

To send Santa flying from a canon, all you'll have to do is to click using your mouse. Initially, you won't be able to get that high off the ground, but that's easy to remedy. All you'll need to do is to collect coins mid-air in order to earn enough for upgrades. Having better equipment means being able to go higher, so saving those coins should be your primary goal from the get-go.

There are also power-ups scattered about Saint Nick's path, so if you get lucky, you may just be able to string them continuously. Of course, you'll really need to pay attention in order to spot and grab them as soon as you can. Also, because it is a Christmas themed game, collecting enough letters to spell "xmas" will give Santa an even bigger boost.

New to this sequel are missions, intended to put your launch skills to the test and give you a chance to progress through the game at a faster pace. Accomplishing to, say, collect a certain amount of coins will earn you even more money for upgrades. Now how's that for generous?
